Hey peeps!

Please be reminded that there WILL be choir on Friday, 13th March.
After cross country, from 2.30 to 5.45pm.
Please be punctual. We hope to see no late comers, and that no one will miss choir on friday.

If you miss even just ONE choir practice, without any valid reason, you will be taken out of SYF.
Hence, we really hope that you will take this seriously and attend every single choir practices.

Also, please produce MC you did not attend choir as you are not feeling well.

i think the attitude on fridays is going downhill alright
just because the teachers are not there does not mean that you can SLACK.
seriously, there's only ONE AND A HALF months more to SYF okay.
sec3/4/5, this is your last syf.
if you think thats how you want the memories of your last syf in school to be, then you can continue.
nobody can force you on what you really want for syf /
its your choice.

another random post...hmm...let me think what i should write...
oh ya,heard some feedback...people drop their standard when it comes to sectionals!!
which should not happen!!!ms grace might not be there but she knows...
in the sense that there is "spy" around...so please dont do so...we are really trying our best to pass on what we had learnt from miss grace on the extra rehearsals on monday...
so do try your best to take it seriously even if it is just a rehearsal done by us...
for those who continuously trying their best to learn,really thankful&hope all of your will keep up the good work..if possible be the best out of the best...
i believe every single one of us can do it!!!

syf is getting closer&closer,we really have lots of things to do.
so every rehearsal irregardless of the presence of ms grace,it is IMPORTANT!!!
so please try your best to give full cooperation to all the leaders,as we are really trying our best to "impart" everything ms grace taught us to your.
&of course to work together and reach the goals that we had set,"GOLD"!!!
to make that possible,everyone plays a part.

Coming up, we'll have a small group of people to perform at the YISHUN library on the 14th NOV.. I think the names wil be announced on friday(24/10) or the next pratice.

Next, the committee will be going for the WORLD YOUTH CHORAL FESTIVAL from 9thdec-13thdec.There will be a pre festival camp on the 1st-6th Dec. You are invited to come on the OPENING CEREMONY on the 9th, cause committee will be performing.Conductor Lim Yau, with SNYO(singapore national youth orchestra) Free admission but you need to tell me how many tickets you want. :)

Along with it, there will be a GALA concert on the 13th to mark the end of the inaugural festival.
Tickets will be priced @ $10. it can be obtained from all sistic outlets from the 29th oct. We will be singing a total of 16 songs, which 11 of them will be sung by SSA choir, which we're in:)

Lastly, i would like to add that the holiday practices are VERY VERY VERY important. As Mdm azzah has said, the attendance has not been very good lately. Therefore, I'm giving a stern warning that IF YOU MISS ONE HOUR OF CHOIR DUE TO TRUANCY, YOU WILL HAVE TO COPY ONE SET OF SCORES PER HOUR MISSED. choir scores means choir scores, neat writing of notes. One wrong note and you have to copy again.If you dont know how to draw the musical notes, PLEASE ASK AND NOT KEEP QUIET. Hand it up the following choir practice. This is a wake up call for those who have been missing choir. You'd better turn up for ALL choir practices. The following reasons WILL NOT be accepted
1)going out with friends
2)TUITION
3)WORK
4)Private problem...
5)mother dont allow
6)Oversleep
7)SLIGHTLY SICK!

Anyway, if you'll didnt note down the things amanda and I said, i'll post it here.
1)Punctuality during choir practices
-those who enters music room late{even my a second or half a minute/according to music room clock}, will be isolated from the rest till miss grace comes
-Members are STRONGLY ENCOURAGED so settle in 5 minutes before rehearsals starts.

2)Attendance
-If members are not attending choir practices on a certain day, they are to inform LEVEL REPS then the teachers.
-level reps are advised to report any members 'faking' sick.
-members who are sick and are still in school MUST require the teachers permission to leave school for home.
-Those who play traunt will have to copy out MUSIC SCORES!

3)SYF
As SYF is nearing, there will be more added practices. The committee really hopes for 100% participation unless you have a valid reason. We only have about 5 months or less to prepare for SYF! so everybody, STOPDAYDREAMING&BUCKUP(:
The extra practices are important as Miss Grace only comes in 3 hours a week. I'm sure evybody knows how important that 3hours is.

4) friday practices
On fridays, committee members will meet up with the groups that they are assigned to. So, please speak up if you have queries on any choir stuff(: This also enables the committee members to understand all of you better as well as enhance further improvement to discpline system.

Hi jh here. Though i didnt get to sing with the choir sometimes during the speech day rehersals, i must say you guys really did a very good job, especially for the full dress rehersal. It was totally better than the past few days. It will be the last time the sec4s are singing in this choir and this performance will certainly give us memories of choir next time. Let's all keep up the good work for the final run tomorrrow! Pls drink lots of water and honey if you would like. Glory to the choir!

Hello, jiahao here. Today we went to St. Mageret(correct me if im wrong, haha) and watched their choir practice conducted by ms grace also. Haha must say they did a very nice job, though ms grace is very strict on them. I was thinking in my mind, that sometimes we are unhappy with her being strict to us. But when i saw her expectations on St. Mageret's choir, i realized that we are very lucky already. Haha, but the point is not about whether she is strict or not. By all means, we must know that whatever she does is beneficial for our choir. I believe that choir will reach such standards someday, and probrably set up many concerts and so on. But at the end of the day what matters is still our attitude and effort. Hope you guys will give the best you can to choir and shine glory! Im pretty sure if we all work hard together, we will conquer the big lap, SYF. =) Even though i will not be in choir soon, i will forever support Joaquim Chorale! So dont give up, because it is never too late =D

Woooooo, I know this is kinda belated but
let's congratulate Chee Gyin, Peiwen and Jiahao for getting the super most courteous award in their classes! Haha. I hope I did not miss out anyone?! I didn't right? I pay attention during the assembly one!

And I think, choir has improved a lot since the past few weeks. But that's because everyone has been really cooperative, working as a team, as a whole choir! :) Let's keep it up okay! and also work on the areas where we can still improve on! :DD

Hellllo everybody!

Elysia's here for the first time! :D

Hmm, I think that the what we shared with Miss Grace on Tuesday is really important, because we didn't spend the whole choir talking just for nothing.
When I was thinking about how choir was like when I was in sec one, it was really different from now. I looked forward to every choir practice, and the choir was really bonded together. Even though our standard may not be the best, we just enjoyed being serious about singing during every practice! That was real fun. You could just feel the enthusiasm in everyone! Although the choir is smaller now, I'm sure that we can improve if each and every of us is willing to put in our best effort in choir! :) Let's start now.
Don't see the choir scores as a chore, but as love!

Anyway, I actually just wanted to share this with you all, that my friend told me today that for the past few days, we all have been singing very loudly during the assembly! She asked me how come we can sing so loudly, and it's scary. Haha! My friend is a sec four, sitting at the back of the parade square, and she can hear us sing loudly everyday, just that she felt that the tune sounds abit weird, which I agree too. Oh and also, my councillor friends said they got a shock during the national anthem cos it's so loud. And when I was late(sorry, but I didnt intend to be late actually!) and was walking to school in the morning yesterday, I could actually hear you all warming up from outside the school, like from the mosque near the school. Im not kidding man! Hahaaa whatever opinions others have of us, I think everyone has done a great job this week but we can be even better! Let's really support one another and work as a whole choir okay! Each and everyone of us makes a difference :D

Today i think we received some scoldings from Ms Grace, about our attitude towards choir.
Well, I need to tell everyone to keep that in mind, of paying attention to anyone's who's speaking; and get ready as soon as Ms Grace gathers us.
I'm sure it's will take the whole choir's effort to improve this, but Committee members have to set good example la. The Secondary 1s are watching, mind us.

Have you heard of a phrase "You can bring the donkey to the river, but you cant force it to drink"? Thats what is whirling inside my mind now. Best describe my feelings for the choir now. What happened? The tempo for the second song, you know it and i know it. I dont care if people laugh or something, because they dont affect me anyway. But it is the choir that will affect me. Is this how everyone wants the choir to be, afterall that the seniors have built up for the foundation of choir 9 yrs back? Should we do what we are ask to do or do it according to our own will? Well, think about what i've just said. I know you guys can do it but it is how much determination you want to have. I know all of you have done your part, but perhaps we need even more excessive training for now on. If we were to sing like today in the CNY concert, we wont even maintain our standard when SYF comes next year.

*This post is not to bring down anyone's happy spirit, but just a reflect on the performance. Just wanna say that we are not as good as we think we are. If we think we are the best we will never improve.

I would like to apologize for the inconvinience for these few days, because we havent been able to sing for the morning assembly. We didnt sing it today because ms soo say its going to drizzle, so the singing thing is cancelled. Well, hope we'll be able to sing tomorrow morning.

We didnt have choir practice today mainly because Ms Grace is unwell, plus Mr Goh and Mr lim were not in school today.

Next, tomorrow pls gather in the music room by 7am(usual time), dressed in the costume already. Then we will do warm up like what we did these few days, whether we are going to sing in the morning or not. I wish all a pleasant Happy Chinese New Year! =D

Hi all! how's your weekend? I hope its better than last week's. Just wanna say that you guys sang pretty awesome on friday's CNY rehersal, but it would be even better if we smile all the way..haha.
Anyway keep up the good work and pls revise Pie Jesu and Gloria Deo, cos miss grace is going to have high expectations. Thx =)
